Charitable organization (501 c 3) that was founded in 2017 by a group of doctors and spouses to support the healthcare and education of the local Hispanic community as well as to strengthen the bonds of friendship, profession, culture, and family.
The Hispanic American Doctors Association of SW Florida(HADA) has established education as one of their principle goals. As a result, the HADA Board of Directors has established a scholarship fund that will award $1,000 to two students per year. Since 2016 we sponsor our own scholarship for undergraduate Latino students. Our scholarship is designed to assist in achieving and sustaining the education benefits of diversity and increasing the number of hispanic students interested in health sciences issues affecting the Latino community and/or likely to give back to the Latino community after graduation. This scholarship award program is made possible by the personal donations from HADA Members and local sponsors and is available through the Foundation for Lee Public County Schools.
Hurricane Maria Relief Efforts
The Hispanic American Doctors Association of SW Florida(HADA) , in collaboration with the community worked together to bring a sense of hope and relief to the people of Puerto Rico after the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Many people lost their homes, infrastructure was destroyed, hospitals were in crisis, children were hungry and the whole island lost power. With generous contributions HADA was able to send over 500,000lbs of emergency aid like food, water, diapers, baby formula, solar lights, generators and much more to help bring a sense of relief and refuge to the people of Puerto Rico.
This past January we partnered with Jetblue, the Minessotta Twins, the Boston Red Sox, Tres Monjitas and other small businesses in Puerto Rico in an initiative called Promesa de Reyes in which we succesfully helped purchase and deliver about 4,000 toys all around the island.
With the help of Linda Bruno, a retired teacher, principal, and superintendent with a passion for education, we successfully helped restore educational supplies lost in the storm to the Headstart programs around the island.
None of this could have happened without the amazing SW Florida community!

Our goal is to empower girls with the ideas they need to make a difference within their schools and neighborhoods through Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Development.
